Jaba Jan - Palomino
Brilliant hostel - away from the noise and surrounded by glorious wildlife but still a wonderful atmosphere where everyone gets on and you feel like a family. So laid back but helpful staff with really good food with lots of veggie options, a private stretch of beach that is nicer than the beach in palomino itself, perfect place to unwind and relax. They do activities like pizza nights and open mics in the evening and only a 3-minute mototaxi into palomino if you wanted to go into town.

A medicinal and permaculture community in the middle of glorious countryside, built entirely by bioconstruction, with a rushing river alongside it. Made up of a number of friendly bilingual families with lots of young children. Teiku Tayrona is a healing community and permaculture-farm located on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada of Colombia. You can stay as short-term guests in their eco-cabins or stay for longer periods as volunteers. cabins (bamboo and wood construction, cob
walls interspersed with bottles) spread out
among the rolling grounds of an old coffee
farm, surrounded by colourful gardens,
coffee bushes and fruit trees. All cabins
have balconies with hammocks so you can
enjoy the peace and beauty of this unique
location.
A quiet little corner of Tintipan Island, best reached by boat from Rincon del Mar, with beautiful cabins, great food and nice little swimming areas . I include it here because of the luminous jellyfish tour we did which was absolutely incredible. A lot of people offer luminous plankton tours but these luminous jellyfish are another level. So cool!

It's sometimes hard to find a hostel that does the minimum, like recycle their rubbish, so it's such a relief to know these eco-friendly places exist!
